Im Frühling: Wandering Towards Spring | 'Wanderlust' concert series, 26 February 2025

The song duo Filippo Turkheimer and Anastasia Kulikova present 'Im Frühling: Wandering Towards Spring.' Schumann's Dichterliebe takes centre stage alongside a collection of other German songs by Schubert, Brahms, Strauss and Charles Ives.

Filippo Turkheimer (baritone)
An experienced concert performer, Filippo Turkheimer's recent oratorio performances as a soloist include Handel's Messiah (Konzerchor Darmstadt, St James Baroque), Bach's Johannes-Passion (Oxford Bach Soloists, Belgravia Chamber Orchestra), Vaughan Williams's A Sea Symphony (Staatskapelle Dresden), Brahm's Requiem (Mozarteum Choir and Orchestra) and J.B. Lully's Grands Motets (BachChor Salzburg).

He has also sung with the Mozarteum Opera Studio, Ensemble Utopia, the Orquestre Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, Capella dell'Halla, L'Orfeo Barockorchester, and Coro Casa da Música. Passionate about Song, he reached the semi-finals of this year's International LiedDuo Competition in Groningen in his first collaboration with pianist Anastasia Kulikova. He also took part in the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund last year.

In addition to his singing activities, he is also the founder and artistic director of Il Gioismo, an international collective of singers and historical instrumentalists based in Salzburg. The ensemble is this year's winner of the Mozarteum Ensemble Stipendium Scholarship.

Anastasia Kulikova (piano)
Anastasia Kulikova's extensive career features performances throughout Europe and North America, as well as many prizes at numerous national and international competitions in Italy, Bulgaria, France, the USA and beyond. She is a past scholarship holder of the Woman's Art Association of Canada and a recent winner of the University of Toronto Concerto Competition.

As a sought-after collaborative pianist, she has served on faculty at the Casalmaggiore International Festival (Italy), the Musiktage-am-Rhein (Germany), and at the International Summer Academy at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz (Austria) in 2024. Anastasia currently works at the Mozarteum University as a collaborative pianist and coach for the strings department.

As a chamber musician, her career highlights include two successful tours of England (2022, 2024) and Second Prize at the international chamber music competition La Follia Nuova (Italy) with cellist Felix Rosenboom. She is an active member of Trio Claudel and the Lied duo Turkheimer-Kulikova, and her 2024/25 season includes performances with various chamber music partners throughout Germany, Austria, Italy and England.
